Karsa CityLab Brings Together Urban Stakeholders to Strengthen Collaboration for Indonesia’s Urban Future

Karsa CityLab hosted an evening of collaboration with urban stakeholders at Wisma Habibie-Ainun, South Jakarta, on Monday (17/11). The gathering brought together a diverse network of urban actors—including policymakers, diplomats, academics, civil society organizations, community leaders, and business representatives—to strengthen partnerships and foster collective ideas for the future of cities across Indonesia.

Guided by the spirit of Participolis, a concept introduced by Karsa CityLab’s Board of Brain Trust member, Bambang Susantono, the event underscored the belief that sustainable urban development can only be achieved through cross-sector collaboration and active public participation. Within this framework, city development extends beyond the provision of physical infrastructure, emphasizing the importance of connecting expertise, empowering citizen-led initiatives, and mobilizing the diverse resources of stakeholders to address complex urban challenges.

Through this gathering, Karsa CityLab reaffirmed its role as a collaborative platform that bridges experts, policymakers, practitioners, and communities to exchange knowledge, co-create solutions, and advance urban innovation. The event marks the beginning of a broader series of collaborative initiatives that Karsa CityLab will continue to develop, with the shared goal of building cities that are more inclusive, adaptive, and globally competitive through the values of collective action and shared leadership.
